A Thank You to Two Patriotic and Civic Minded Citizens of Monroe
Paul Mullen and David Otto of Stepney Hardware donated flags to fly over Monroe's Parks and Recreation buildings.
To the Editor:
We here at Monroe Parks and Recreation would like to graciously thank two exceptionally patriotic and civic minded citizens of Monroe. Both Paul Mullen and David Otto, of Stepney Hardware, have gifted us with flags to fly over our Parks and Recreation buildings.
Mr. Mullen has given two "casket flags" from two of his uncles who fought valiantly during World War II. Nicholas DiNapoli fought in the European campaign and Louis Santako was a radioman for the American campaign. Mr. Otto and his store have donated countless times for us to decorate the park on Memorial Day and the 4th of July. His flags proudly fly over Wolfe Park and Great Hollow Lake daily.
I know that the town of Monroe is a better place as a result of these men's selfless acts and generosity.
Sincerely,
Frank S. Bent, Interim Director

I personally thank you for your generosity. My husband is buried in Arlington National Cemetery - and I know HE would certainly thank you.
