Police Reports: Three DUI Arrests

Police stopped drivers for drunken driving on Main Street and Monroe Turnpike last weekend

DUI on Main Street

A Newtown man was arrested for drunken driving after a police officer saw his Ford pick up truck weaving on Main Street at 2:07 Saturday morning, according to the report.

Jason Pease, 35, of Little Brook Lane was charged with driving under the influence and released on $500 bond for an April 5 court date.

A police officer followed Pease's pick up truck after clocking it going 58 mph in a 40 mph zone, then saw it swerve back and forth, touching the center and fog lines, police said.

After stopping the truck, the officer said Pease was slurring his words, had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and had glassy bloodshot eyes, according to the report.

Police said field sobriety and breath tests determined Pease was under the influence.

Arrested Twice in One Day

A Bridgeport man charged with drunken driving early Saturday morning was arrested again minutes later for allegedly driving his car with a license that had just been suspended for the DUI.

Dion Booker, 36, of Thorme Street was charged with driving under the influence and operating an unregistered motor vehicle after his black Toyota Corolla was stopped for crossing over the double yellow line on Monroe Turnpike at 3:46 a.m., according to the report.

Police said there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Booker and that he spoke in a slurred speech and appeared confused, having trouble answering questions and finding his registration card.

Field sobriety and breath tests determined Booker was under the influence, police said.

During the stop, officers also found Booker was on parole from the Connecticut Department of Corrections. Corrections did not return the police department's call until after Booker posted his $1,000 bond, according to police.

The Department of Corrections wanted to remand Booker to custody. Approximately 20 minutes later, the Monroe towing company police use called to say Booker picked up his vehicle.

Officers soon stopped the Toyota heading south on Main Street and Booker was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license (which had just been suspended after the DUI arrest minutes earlier), police said.

Police brought Booker to the correctional facility after the arrest.

Another DUI

A Williams Road woman was arrested for driving under the influence at 4:22 Saturday morning after police stopped her Toyota Tundra for swerving while heading south on Main Street, according to the report.

Natasha Seferovic, 23, was also charged with driving with a suspended license. Bond was $500 for an April 5 court date.

An officer stopped Seferovic's car after seeing it cross over the fog line, while negotiating a curve, nearly driving up onto the curb, police said.

The officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Seferovic and she had bloodshot eyes, according to police, who said field sobriety and breath tests determined she was under the influence.
