Officials: Chalk Hill Will Be Safe For Sandy Hook Students [VIDEO]

Monroe Police Lt. Brian McCauley and Fire Marshal Bill Davin briefed reporters on Chalk Hill being prepared for Sandy Hook Elementary School students and staff.

Monroe Police Lt. Brian McCauley and Fire Marshal Bill Davin answered questions from the news media during a press conference inside the gazebo outside Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road, at 1 p.m. on Monday.

The briefing covered the preparations of the Chalk Hill building for use by Sandy Hook Elementary School and how police officers will keep children safe and secure on their first day back to school.

Sandy Hook School students will be attending Chalk Hill as an alternative education facility in the wake of the Dec. 14 shooting that left 26 dead, including 20 students.
