State Senator Kevin Kelly Endorses Steve Vavrek

State GOP official backs the Monroe's Republican first selectman

State Senator Kevin Kelly (R-21) announced his endorsement of fellow Republican Steve Vavrek for First Selectman of Monroe Monday.

"I am proud to announce my support for Steve Vavrek," Kelly said. "He has proven himself to be a capable leader by guiding the Town of Monroe through a time of economic uncertainty. As first selectman, Steve showed dedication to making our community a better place by rebuilding roads, encouraging business, and supporting education for our children. Steve Vavrek is the right leader for Monroe, and I look forward to working with him in the future."

Vavrek was elected first selectman of Monroe in 2009 and has served more than 14 years in local government. He has been a town resident for 24 years with his wife Teri and two daughters.
