Trunk Or Treat is Back

Loose branches hanging from trees following storms posed a safety hazard to children trick or treating last year, so First Selectman Steve Vavrek canceled celebration of the holiday. Instead, Monroe held Trunk Or Treat in the Wolfe Park parking lot. It was well attended, with children dressed up in costumes visiting cars full of candy.

This October, Monroe families can celebrate Halloween with trick or treating and Trunk Or Treat. The latter event is coming back and donations will benefit the Monroe Food Pantry and Project Warmth.

Trunk Or Treat will be held in the Masuk High School parking lot on Oct. 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. and suggested donations for Project Warmth is five dollars per car.
