Vavrek is a Con Man. How is that for reporting, Jan? The reporting that was once done by a localRead Moreed itor can be picked up by readers if they would take time to write about something that affects Monroe. For example I wrote a piece in the Town Square section on how Steve Vavrek goes about scamming the public into paying higher taxes every year. If everyone would take some time to write about the various corruptions that permeate our town maybe we could make this a better place

Something tells me that the OP was not talking about political mud-slinging. I agree with the OPRead Morein that there is no longer any coverage of Board or Commission meetings, local sports, human interest stories things that only concern those of us that live here. Bill Bittar was everywhere, and I miss his coverage.

Thanks Crown Royal, that's disappointing though.

Folks people from both parties said this was a great budget.....why cut it at all? It'sRead Morebasic...defe r some buying or make cuts in services being offered. Can't have it both ways can maintain services by cutting and aren't you tired of nickel and diming things and paying more to fix them after they break beyond repair...go head and slash the budget...nothing will ever get fixed right, more will fall apart but you people will be happy

The people who live on Robin's Lane - turns out on East Village Rd - NEVER STOP...If drivers whereRead Moret o pull up to the white line and stop - then eke up after taking a look it would make it less aggressive then pulling through to turn if there are cars on the road having to swerve...T-Bone accidents happen a lot!!

@ Rick Strong I don't know who the hell you are but Kyle was told by DMV tester that he was a great Read Moredriver. He has NEVER received a ticket and NEVER had an accident. The only time he was pulled over was for window tints. So if you are a cop pull in over. If not don't drive slow.

@Rick Strong since we don't know you it also disturbs me that you know my son and you know theRead Morediffe rent cars and trucks he drives. I really hope that you are not stalking my son and I need to call the police on you.

And Trumbull wants to sue Monroe for the traffic that will burden them when the Walmart goesRead Morein!!!?? ??
Tracey DeRubis March 27, 2014 at 10:13 AM
Good point Pat....and what about the traffic light on RT111 and Spring Street....and then a fewRead Morefeet away you have the longest light in history at RT111 and Purdy Hill...(which i agree is needed). Obviously, rhyme or reason has absolutely nothing to do with where lights are placed in Monroe....only in Trumbull.

Marty Isaacs should be commended for taking this initiative. I would suggest a petition be postedRead Moref or signature at the Edge and perhaps other affected businesses. It is important to gain the support of Trumbull Police Commission. Since it will require testimony before the DOT, involvement of Trumbull's State Senators and Representatives is important.
