Monroe residents are invited to spend the day visiting new animals at the Zoo and enjoying the great outdoors. The Zoo has welcomed new animals including four North American river otter pups, which will make their debut any day now.

Saturday the zoo also will be hosting its annual Earth Day celebration, “Party for the Planet,” which is about encouraging local, organic, earth-friendly choices as a way of promoting better health for our planet and ourselves. Environmentally friendly vendors will be on hand with everything from green cleaning products and recycled fashion accessories to better lawn care for you and wildlife! Visitors are encouraged to visit the special citizen science corner to learn about online science projects individuals and families can participate in. Party for the Planet is about learning what we can do to make the planet a healthier place for everyone.
