Martin Luther came to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Elm Street on Reformation Sunday

On Sunday, October 27, 2013, Reformation Day in the Lutheran Church, Martin Luther came to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, on Elm Street in Monroe, Connecticut. He was interviewed by Matt Johnson, for the interest of the congregation, who listened in on the interview. Mr Luther was very congenial but had strong views on matters that we face today. But first he explained how he had come to be a monk instead of the lawyer that his family planned for him. He made a pact with God when in a dire situation, and then felt he had to be faithful to his promise. He never regretted becoming a monk. While studying the Bible he came to realize that God loved us just as we are and it is by  Grace, given by God that we are saved from sin. Not by giving money or anything that we do but only by the Grace of God. His intention was never to reform the church just to bring it to their attention. The Bible at that time was only printed in Latin and few people outside the Church could read Latin or understand that language, so he translated the Bible into German. Now the Bible could be read in a language everyone understood. The Protestant ---Protest ant churches are all united by their similarities; they come to the altar, the baptism font, to Christ's table for Communion, in and for Jesus Christ, so Martin Luther, feels strongly, that today we should think more of those elements that unite us and less about our differences.
