Rotary Club of Monroe Seeks Award Nominees

Monroe, CT – (March 24, 2014) – The Rotary Club of Monroe is seeking nominees for its annual Service Above Self awards. For the first time, the club is reaching out to the community to ask for nominees for this prestigious award. Awards are given to members of the Monroe community who have demonstrated a commitment to Monroe and the world through their service to others. Awards are given to educators, business leaders and members of the community at large.

Commenting on the community outreach effort, Club President Bill Florin said, “We know that there are so many people in Monroe doing great things. There is a real chance that we could overlook deserving members of our community, so we are asking for the public’s help. Those who know someone living the Service Above Self spirit should share the story so we can consider them for this honor.”

Nominations can be in the form of an email to Bill Florin for consideration by the club’s members. Nominations should include the nominee’s name, phone number and email address (if available), along with an explanation for the nomination. Please limit nominations to 250 words. Emails must be received by 5PM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 and should be sent to BillFlorin@yahoo.com.
