The Winner of the Best Political Campaign Sign IS? Hunsberger for Monroe First Selectman

September 27, 2013 –  Tis the season that political campaign signs begin appearing throughout Towns and Cities throughout Connecticut as local elections head down the home stretch to Election Day in November.

Most are simple, plain and very often do not draw much attention.  That all changes this Fall, as Dan Hunsberger, the Democratic candidate for First Selectman in Monroe, unveiled a sign for all to see.  The word on the street so far?  “Clearly one of the most creative ever seen in Monroe and most areas of the state”.

Voters, residents and out of towners will be able to see the 6 foot by 6 foot one-of-a-kind 1000 lbs. carved sign on the Ganim property at the intersection of Route 111 and Purdy Hill Road (the Four Corners) in Monroe.

Hunsberger said, “I met Wood Carver Jay Dubak during a campaign appearance. After we talked, Jay, who owns a firewood and tree service here in Monroe, said that in addition to voting for me, he wanted to help my campaign anyway he could and told me he would make a sign, but I never expected such a unique handcrafted sign.”

While signs won’t win the race, Hunsberger believes he offers a clear choice this November over the current and incumbent First Selectman.  He is out promoting his Vision for the Town of Monroe and offering his years of leadership in Town and throughout his business career.

Aggressive Economic Development, Fiscal Management, and Open and Responsive Government are the cornerstones of his message to voters. He is a practicing Attorney and a Captain with Stamford Fire and Rescue.
