CT Child Identification Program

Hiram Lodge #18 to sponsor a Child Identification program Saturday March 3rd at the CH Booth Library 

Hiram Lodge #18, a Masonic Lodge in Newtown since 1791, will be sponsoring a CT CHIP or Connecticut Child Identification Program, on Saturday, March 3rd from 9:30am to 2:30pm at the CH Booth Library located at 22 Main Street in Newtown. 

The CHIP Program offers parents or guardians an opportunity to obtain positive identification for their child/children for safekeeping at no cost. 

Participants receive a complete ID package called a "PURPLE PACK" that includes your child's height and weight, fingerprints, a dental impression and cheek swab, plus a DVD Ram disk which has a video of your child and a still photo. 

The recorded interview and still photo is burned directly onto a mini-DVD-ram disc that can be viewed by Connecticut law enforcement if and when the parent turns it over to them to search for their missing child. Together with the DNA sample and dental impression, these identifying items provide a most powerful identification and recovery tool. 

Since its inception in January 2003 Connecticut Freemasons have raised and contributed the over $220,000 necessary to provide this comprehensive Child ID service for over 40,000 Connecticut families at "NO COST" to parents.
