Fairfield Ward Students Stand Up to Violence & Bullying

The Center for Women and Families works with schools, police and municipal leaders to end domestic violence and bullying. Now two Fairfield Ward High School students joined the fight.

Kaleigh Fidaleo, a junior, and senior Cozette More formed the leadership group Raising Abuse Awareness for Teens (RAAFT) at their school and membership has grown to 15 students.

Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara, who introduced Fidaleo and More at the Center for Women and Families Speaking of Women 2013 luncheon at The Waterview in Monroe Thursday, said RAAFT raises awareness for teens to stop the violence.

The students told the audience they plan on doing fundraising for the center in the future with car washes and badminton tournaments and their group will do banners against things like bullying and teen dating violence.
