Teen Night, 'Paint the Town Purple' ...

The Monroe Historical Society is having a tag sale, WMNR is hosting a 30th Anniversary Concert, Boy Scout Troop 163 is holding a pancake breakfast and more.

'Paint the Town Purple'

"Paint the Town Purple" is a community awareness activity to educate residents about the Trumbull/Monroe Relay for Life, a major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event will be held at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library this Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

A fun filled day of activities will include face painting, bounce house, balloon animals by Willie the Clown, Hair Tinsel and Feathers — Hair House, as well as Snappy Dawgs Gourmet Hot Dogs, ice cream, Beatles music provided by Seth Lefferts "Phony Hearts Club Band" & Co, and other team fundraisers will highlight what Relay For Life is all about.

There will also be plant sales, friendship bracelets, carnival games, drawings for a ride in a fire truck to and from school and more. Children may also tour a Monroe Fire Truck on Saturday. 

Survivors and caregivers can enjoy coffee and a sweet treat in the Community Room at noon, courtesy of the "Twice Baked Twins".

The Trumbull/Monroe Relay for Life will be held at Masuk High School on June 8-9.

 

Teen Night

The Project Warmth committee will be sponsoring Monroe Teen Night’s (6th-8th grade only) every Friday in May at Chalk Hill from 7-10 p.m., admission is $15 per child.

Grab your friends and come play foosball, pool, air hockey and pinpong along with half court basketball and volleyball. Lots of new events being added each week to keep it interesting (ex: cell phone camera scavenger hunt), so don't miss out!

Sign ups are required by filling out a registration form and are limited to the first 100 registrants. Please contact Jen Aguilar at aguilarj66@gmail.com for a registration form.
