Keep Families Warm this Winter, But Not On An Empty Stomach

The Rotary Club's pancake breakfast will benefit Project Warmth, the town's home heating and energy assistance program.

A stack of fluffy pancakes covered with sweet maple syrup and melting pads of butter, some stacks filled with chocolate chips, will be cooked up by "celebrity restaurateurs" John and Sandy Kantzas owners of the Rustic Grille on Main Street, and served to diners at the Rotary Club of Monroe breakfast Saturday.

The event will be held at the United Methodist Church of Monroe, 515 Cutlers Farm Road, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and all proceeds will benefit Project Warmth, the town's home heating and energy assistance program.

Monroe Social Services runs the popular program to assist residents who cannot afford their heating bills and demand has risen sharply amid a faltering national economy.
