Just Another Beautiful Race Here

Generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers fuel the Sprint for Monroe's success.

Runners in the 21st annual Sprint for Monroe Race faced a hot sun, but were cooled by a steady breeze on Sunday. John Kimball, owner of Kimball Group, the event's title sponsor, stood among the crowd, holding his daughter, just before the awards ceremony at Wolfe Park.

"Just another beautiful race here," Kimball said of the Sprint. "It highlights the community spirit of the town of Monroe. It's a great day for families to get together, do something healthy and support a lot of great causes."

Kimball Group has been the title sponsor for 15 years running. Proceeds from the Sprint for Monroe benefit community charities and causes. Sprint for Monroe Dir. Amy Primorac says one of the potential recipients this year is the Monroe Education Foundation.

Of being the title sponsor, Kimball said, "I'll keep doing it as long as the volunteers keep doing this. It's really the people like Amy (Primorac) and Paul (Moyse) and all the volunteers who make this happen."

Primorac has said generous sponsors like Kimball Group are key in making the event go, donating gift certificates and prizes for raffles and gift bags.

Newtown Savings Bank is this year's Premier Sponsor and Presenting Sponsors include Eye On Monroe, Minuteman Press of Monroe, Mr. Handyman and Aqua Hydrate.
