A large crowd came out in support of Monroe families in need Friday night when The Stone Barn hosted the annual dinner/dance, which raises funds for Project Warmth, the town's home heating and energy assistance program.
Social Services Dir. Barbara Yeager says demand from people struggling to pay their utility bills is at an all time high, so Project Warmth's coffers are quickly depleted.
Project Warmth depends on fundraisers throughout the year, and Yeager said Friday night's turnout to the annual dinner was higher than last year.
