Wolfe Park Pool's Snack Shop is a Hit

Hot food like burgers and hot dogs are still shuttled to the pool area of Wolfe Park from the concession stand manned by Lake Zoar Drive-In on the lake side of the park, but this summer, pool goers who just want a soda and a bag of chips can buy it from the snack shop near the pool entrance.

Shelves are covered with snack food and candy and refrigerators chill soda and other soft drinks.

Brette Therriault worked at the cash register late last week.

"This has done really well," she said. "People like it better than the Coke machines. There's more options."

Therriault said customers also have the option of ordering hot food at the snack shop, which is shuttled via a golf cart and served in the pool area by a staff member.

Therriault said the snack shop is usually open during pool hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., depending on how busy it is.
