Eight To The Bar Band will be performing at Wolfe Park on Saturday, August 17 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm as part of the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department's 25th annual summer concert series. Eight To The Bar will turn up the heat with an evening of Swing, Boogie-Woogie, Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Motown for our last concert of the summer season.
Drawing its musical influences from American roots music, Eight To The Bar is known for its outstanding instrumentalists and sophisticated musical and vocal arrangements, highlighted by female vocals. With the support of independently-produced albums and videos, Eight To The Bar has cultivated a large, enthusiastic following that has put them in clubs from Disneyland to Disney World as well as Europe and the Caribbean. Their rigorous performing schedule (approximately 200 dates per year), has included opening spots for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Manhattan Transfer, Robert Cray, Neil Young, Roy Orbison, and Ray Charles. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds or hop to your feet and boogie down. Either way you are sure to have a great time with one of Connecticut’s finest bands.
A 2013 Wolfe Park vehicle parking sticker is needed to park in the main parking lot. Those without stickers need to park in the non stickered/overflow lot. Be sure to bring your blanket/chairs and enjoy an evening outdoors under the stars with friends and family. Call the Department’s cancellation line at 339-6106 after 5:30pm in the event of inclement weather. Wolfe Park is located at 285 Cutlers Farm Road in Monroe.
