MHS Tri-M Student Benefit Concert (To Benefit Project Warmth and Masuk Music)

Come join us at Masuk High School on March 20th for a spectacular music concert put on by Masuk Music students! As the first event hosted by the newly created Tri-M Music Honors Society chapter at Masuk High School, music students will be kicking off the organization with a spectacular event benefitting two worthy causes: Project Warmth, and Masuk Music.

75% of the proceeds raised will be donated to kick start a year of fundraising for Project Warmth, which provides home heating oil for those of our neighbors in need during the winter months in Monroe, and 25% will be donated to benefit the Music programs at Masuk High School, such as the newly crowned MAC 2010 Champion Masuk Marching Band, Concert Band, Orchestra, and Choir.

The concert will feature many different performances from Masuk students, with all different styles of music ranging from Jazz to Classical, Rock to Pop, and many others in-between.

The feature piece of the night, performed by a student rehearsed and conducted Orchestra, is Howard Blake’s “The Snowman” based off of the children's book illustrated by Raymond Briggs and the 1980's animated cartoon popular in Europe. Children and adults alike will be swept away into a magical story about a small boy’s Snowman and how it came to life one cold winter night. With lights, narration, and an outstanding vocalist, the Orchestra will help illustrate this classic children’s tale right in our very own Masuk High School Auditorium. Stay to the end of the evening for the induction ceremony of the brand new Tri-M members!

Come early and join us for a silent auction where special gifts and prizes for all ages will be up for bid, all donated by local Residents and Businesses, including several special "Rent-A-Musician" items where you can bid for student musicians to perform at your next event! Refreshments will also be sold during intermission.

We welcome you to join us at 6:45PM for the auction, some refreshments, and good company. Doors to the auditorium will open at 7:15, with the concert beginning at 7:30. Tickets at the door will be $15 for Adults and $10 for Seniors and Students. Advance ticket sales can be ordered for $10 Adults and $5 Seniors/Students.

Once again, please join us for this wonderful event supporting two great causes!
