Monroe Farmers' Market Opening Day

It's Opening Day for the 2012 season of the Monroe Farmers' Market! We've got an exciting season planned this year, so be sure to shop the market for something new to see and do each week!

Tree Planting and Dedication

We're pleased to join the American Cancer Society and the Town of Monroe in a tree planting and dedication to the late Tom Buzi. Tom was a former Town Selectman and an early champion of starting a farmers' market in Monroe. Please join us for this very special event at 3:00pm.

Brick Oven Pizza

Carl Anthony Trattoria's pizza truck will serve up made-to-order brick oven pizza topped with fresh, local ingredients.

Our valued sponsor, Aquarion Water Company, will provide a reusable farmers' market tote bag to the first 150 customers to attend the market on Opening Day.

Jay's Firewood and Tree Service creates professional chainsaw carvings of caricature bears and wildlife animals as well as custom chainsaw board signage. These highly defined carvings will be available for purchase or by special order with a deposit.

Entertainment

Members of the UConn Folk Music Society will perform a lively mix of traditional old time, Bluegrass, Irish and American Folk music. They're a crowd favorite!

Educational Programs

Master Gardeners and Master Composters from the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System educational outreach programs will be available to answer questions about all aspects of gardening and composting

The Monroe Education Foundation

The Monroe Education Foundation will be on hand with information on how you can help to support school programs.

Children's Activities

Expressions Art Lessons will be at the farmers’ market to help kids with a free, fun craft that they can take home.
