The Monroe Newcomers & Neighbors sponsored Music & Arts Festival held at Benedict's Home & Garden Center last weekend raised over $2,800 for elementary school Libraries in town.
"The overwhelming response from the community and local businesses was amazing," said Kim Henderson, civic chairman for Monroe Newcomers & Neighbors. "Over $1,000 was donated from our local business here in Monroe and neighboring towns."
"The women of Monroe Newcomers & Neighbors strongly believe in giving back to the community by doing several charitable events during the course of the year," she added. "We had 350-plus people attend the event this year."
