Police say a burglar pretending to be a flower delivery man went door-to-door on Hidden Knolls Circle Thursday night, knocking until he came across a condo unit where the front door was slightly ajar.
When the homeowner came back from walking her dog at around 7:30 p.m., police said she saw a man jumping off her back deck.
Inside, she smelled smoke and later found a smoldering cigarette butt on a rug and realized the man had been in her home, according to police.
Officers soon arrived on the scene and a canine tracked a scent to the curb, where police believe a getaway car had been parked.
The homeowner reportedly doesn't know if anything was taken and police are investigating the incident.
Neighbors told officers a man posing as a delivery man was seen earlier knocking on doors at the condo complex, pretending he was having trouble finding an address.
