All Main Street Businesses Now Have Power

The first selectman was informed that all of Route 25 is back on the grid at 12:30 p.m.

The stretch of Main Street by the Stepney Green has been without power since Hurricane Sandy struck on Monday night, but First Selectman Steve Vavrek was informed early Friday afternoon that power was restored to all Route 25 businesses.

Whenever power is restored to a commercial corridor, the Trumbull-Monroe Health District has to perform inspections of food services to ensure no food that has gone bad is cooked or sold.

"We were told this morning that there would be significant restoration today and there shouldn't be any finger pointing," Vavrek said. "We're all working as hard as we can."

Shelley- not yet on Hiram hill yet. Last I knew there were lines down on Judd. Interestingly, the road crews are hard at work rebuilding the intersection on main st!

A good thing. Now I won't have to worry as much about the people who do not realize that a traffic light out becomes a stop sign in all directions and blow right through the intersection.
