Monroe Pack & Ship Moves to the Reda Center

Monroe Pack & Ship has ensured deliveries of its customers' packages via FedEx, UPS and U.S. mail for more than two decades from its storefront at Gaslight Square. Now Joe Palmisano, who owned it for the past 10, moved his business into the Reda Center down the street at 483 Monroe Turnpike.

An AT&T representative told Palmisano the phone company was setting up phone lines Thursday afternoon, as Palmisano unpacked items from a box.

Keith Forster of Trumbull asked him if he could send out a package that day, despite preparing Monroe Pack & Ship's new space for its opening on Friday morning.

"He's been handling my business exclusively for the past 10 years," Forster said of Palmisano. Forster owns Vintage Family Tree Video.

Forster had to go with another service on Thursday. "I hate to do that," he said. "But this is time sensitive. Don't worry. I'll have other packages for you."

Palmisano said the space at the Reda Center is newer, built in 2000, and the configuration works better for his business.

"It's gonna look nice, isn't it?" Palmisano said to Forster. "Everybody likes it. I'll be up and running tomorrow."

Monroe Pack & Ship is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. It's closed on Sunday.
