Column Project Dedication at Washington 19

On August 12th a dedication ceremony was held at Washington 19 on the Monroe Green.  The ceremony
was to thank all who were involved in the restoration of the front of the lodge.  Some of the persons recognized were, Bernie Sippin, Bernie purchased the new columns, Wayne Saunders, Tommy Beard, Dave Klein, Don Butterworth, who coordinated and executed the project.
Phil Clark, from Claris contruction, who was in charge of the engineering and installation of the new columns.  Doug Wilson expert painting skills restored the front of the building to it's original splendor.  So many were to thank for the months this project took.

Washington Lodge was built by Masons for Masons.  Most lodges around the area are buildings that were purchased and redone to be a Mason lodge.  Many important members of the community were Masons.  There was great pride when the building open in 1904, for the Masons as well as the community.  It's location on the green in proximity next to the Town Hall was very important.  Most folks don't know that the original town hall was the Mason lodge.  Now the town had their town hall and the Mason had the own building.  Historically Masonry has been a part of the development of our Country, most folks don't realize it starts in each town.
