Things That Go Bump in the Night

Join Hank Gruner, Vice President of Programs at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford and an expert in Biology and Herpetology for an amazing, hands‐on nighttime Vernal Pool Investigation.

What may look like a calm little pond during the day comes alive at night as the creatures that inhabit the vernal pools at the Discovery Zone come out to hunt for food, migrate to a new home, or seek a mate.

Join Hank Gruner, Vice President of Programs at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford and an expert in Biology and Herpetology for an amazing, hands‐on nighttime Vernal Pool Investigation at the Discovery Zone on Saturday April 27th at 8pm.

Participants will silently creep up on the vernal pools, then catch, identify, and release a vast array of life forms, some of them seldom seen, under Mr. Gruner’s supervision and with the help of high-powered flashlights brought to the event courtesy of the Connecticut Science Center.
