Home and Family
Making a house a home is a goal most of us share. A comfortable, efficient and stylish home adds so much to our everyday life. It's our retreat, our entertaining space and for some of us…our work space. Probably most importantly, it’s the place where memories are created as we raise our families.

This blog is a tale of two businesses. My husband, Michael, and I are a Real Estate Team working out of William Raveis in Monroe. Also, for the past 15 years, along with my partner and dear friend, Sandra Andrejecsk, I own Little Ivy Nursery School in Monroe. So it's all about homes and families for me. Surprisingly, the two businesses have a lot in common and happily many times overlap for us.  They’re both focused on communicating with local families. Whether it be getting to know a family’s real estate goals and seeing them through to moving into their dream  home, or  orienting a family into the fabric of our Little Ivy Family, it’s my passion.

I love to see how families make a house their home and I hope to share with you
some tips and observations in the weeks and months to come.  The home pictured is on 42 Crown View Drive in Monroe. It belongs to a lovely young family. They have turned this sprawling colonial into a tasteful, inviting home. A career opportunity is moving them across the country so we have listed their home for sale. No staging advice needed here! They’ve readied their home for the market
with fresh paint, a granite and stainless kitchen, and no clutter.

This family has found the floor plan of their home to work well with raising two young children and having a home office. Included in the upstairs is a two room suite with a full bath. They have cleverly turned this space into a children’s playroom complete with a charming single bed for naps. The home has both front and back staircases which makes this upstairs playroom easily accessible from the family room. The office sits in the front of the house, directly off the main foyer, and allows for total privacy.  With a wonderful eye for landscape design, they have even added a meadow element to part of the property. They enjoy evenings by the fire pit in the upper yard beyond the garden.

Let’s raise our glass to home and family and creating the good life!

You are invited to tour this 3,400 square foot home this Sunday, August 12th from 1 - 4 p.m. Just reduced to $545,000!

Cheers,
