"Fostering Creativity and a Passion for Learning"
When Sandra Andrejecsk and I, owners of Little Ivy Nursery School, held Graduation on June 17th, it was our sixteenth time doing so! The event began with a procession of graduates holding balloons and entering the room to classical music. Once in their places, the graduates recited the Pledge of Allegiance, performed a song presentation, a graduation dance, and ended with the famous Little Ivy Cheer. The audience was all smiles, applause and even a few tears, especially when the children performed "One Small Voice" which included sign language along with singing.
Making this celebration even more special was the fact that two families were seeing their fourth child graduate from Little Ivy. Both familes were in full attendance. The Rudini family of Trumbull and the Cusa family of Monroe have been a very special part of the Little Ivy family as each of their four children attended for two years. These families are very much a part of the fabric of the school. It was bittersweet to see the last of the siblings graduate.
Before moving to the charming classrooms at St. Peter's Church on the Monroe Green, we held classes for the YMCA on Rte. 59 in a little antique house. It was there that Sandy and I became fast friends and began developing what has become a well loved program for children ages three to five. Thanks to the many wonderful families who have brought their children to us, and spread the good word about our school, we are proud to be able to celebrate this very sweet sixteenth graduation.
