Two Monroe Houses Change Hands This Week

The following are property transfers recently recorded in the Town Clerk's Office.

Jane E. and Peter W. Allen sold a house at 11 Hamlet Lane to Nicholas DeBrizzi for $333,000 on April 23.


Douglas J. Murray Jr. sold a house at 148 Pepper Street to John Benvenuti for $115,000 on April 23.

. I have read here on Patch that higher taxes sell homes.because everyone wants to move where they can pay more. And here in CT where we pay some of the highest in the country our real estate market is just booming. So why would anyone want their assessment to be based on current fair market value, that would be silly and simplistic. Your just not looking at the bigger picture.
