Trees and wires had been blocking sections of Routes 25 and 111 earlier since Winter Storm Alfred struck yesterday, but police announced that both major commercial thoroughfares are now passable.
A tree in the vicinity of High Meadows and Stevenson Station 2 on Monroe Turnpike is leaning over the roadway and police are aware of it and drivers have been been driving under it.
In other traffic news, the light that had been malfunctioning at the corner of routes 25 and 59 is working again.
Police ask residents to stay off road if they do not need to be out. Roads are expected to freeze over tonight.
