An Audit of Municipal Election Votes is Tuesday

The 2013 municipal election isn't over yet, at least for staff members of the Monroe Registrars of Voters. On Tuesday, the office will conduct an audit of votes cast at Monroe Elementary School, which is District 3.

The hand counting of the machine ballots will take place in the Community Room of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike at 9 a.m. The counting is open to the public.

Public Act 07-194 requires mandatory post- election hand count audits to be conducted by Registrars of Voters in 10 percent of the voting districts, which are randomly selected to participate, according to the Monroe Registrars of Voters Office.
