Families can attend the premiere concert production of “A Little Princess” which will begin the Family Classics Series at The Bijou in Bridgeport. Opening night is Friday, November 16 at 8 PM and will continue on Saturday November 17th at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sunday November 18th at 7 PM. “A Little Princess,” with an “unbelievably gorgeous, soaring score” by Tony- nominated composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, Wild Party) and book and lyrics By Brian Crawley, is inspired by the beloved childhood classic by Francis Hodgson Burnett, with an updated script. This story centers around young Sara Crewe, who is enrolled in a prestigious boarding school while her wealthy father goes off on a secret mission for the Queen of England. When Sara receives news of her father’s death, the school’s ruthless headmistress makes the newly penniless girl a servant and forces her to live in a cold attic. Sara, who refuses to accept that her father has died, proves that being a real princess takes heart, hope, and a little magic. This production is directed for the Bijou by Tobi Beth Silver with musical direction by Tom Cuffari. The film version will follow one week later on Friday Nov. 23 with 3 showings at 11 AM, 2 PM and 5 PM.  The Saturday showing on Nov. 24 is at 11 AM. Tickets for the live concert are $20 and $25 and tickets for the film are $8/$9/$10.  All tickets can be purchased by calling 203-332-3228 or visiting The Bijou website at http://thebijoutheatre.com.

Good luck Laura, My husband and I tried to get some on Purdy Hill Road from Rt.111 to Rt.25. theyRead More said they can't do it. I have asked numerous times to have a police officer sit in Farmview or use our driveway, said it's too dangerous, go figure. Tired of drivers around town having no respect for other drivers and people walking on side of road. It gets to the point that I don't even want to leave my house. Get a clue people slow down, stay off phones, it's not hard.

Well, realistically, you won't get speed bumps (they just don't do that on public streets) but youRead More might get a speed trap once in a while. I drive this road every weekday and am just as appalled as you are by the speeding. And let me tell you, it's not always youngsters. I've seen a few blue-haired old ladies ride my bumper on that street. We have a similar problem on Barn Hill, another long stretch of road where drivers feel the need for speed. What I can't figure out (with all due respect) is why anybody with half a brain would choose either of those streets for their morning or evening walk. That's just tempting fate.

Hi Steve, To stop getting emails for every comment under a story, when you're signed on, click underRead More "Hi Steve" at the top of the page, and choose Email Settings from the dropdown menu. There's an option titled "Comments", uncheck the box that is automatically checked so you will no longer receive comment updates by email.

I found that I could turn them off in my profile under e-mail settings. However, it appears thatRead More this is now an all or nothing rather than by selected posts or individual articles.

Hi Steve, The comment stream doesn't appear on the homepage in the new design. Some of the sitesRead More that went 2.0 before mine did heard complaints about that. I don't know if it will be changed or not. Right now Patch is gathering all feedback.
