Helping Children Grieve Workshop 1/31/13, 7:30pm

Too many of us have recently faced the
difficulties of explaining grief and loss to our children. We found that we share many questions: What should we do or say as parents when someone we care about has died? What are age appropriate responses in children? How do we foster emotional and spiritual healing? When is it appropriate to reach out for additional help?

If you are a parent or grandparent struggling with these same questions we hope that that you will join us for a one-night workshop on Thursday, January 31 at 7:30pm in Wilton Hall, Monroe Congregational Church, with Pastors Jenn Gingras and Andrew Courtney. They will share highlights from Theresa M. Huntley’s “Helping Children Grieve”, including discussion on how children (up to age 18) understand death, what to avoid in your responses, behavioral changes that may happen and how to engage in teachable moments.

If you have any trouble, email support@patch.com. The help desk will do it for you if need be. ButRead More changing your settings should work.

Hi Steve, To stop getting emails for every comment under a story, when you're signed on, click underRead More "Hi Steve" at the top of the page, and choose Email Settings from the dropdown menu. There's an option titled "Comments", uncheck the box that is automatically checked so you will no longer receive comment updates by email.

I found that I could turn them off in my profile under e-mail settings. However, it appears thatRead More this is now an all or nothing rather than by selected posts or individual articles.

Hi Steve, The comment stream doesn't appear on the homepage in the new design. Some of the sitesRead More that went 2.0 before mine did heard complaints about that. I don't know if it will be changed or not. Right now Patch is gathering all feedback.
