'Rockin' Around the Decades: A Night in Funky Town,' will benefit The Center for Family Justice

The Bridgeport Holiday Inn will be rocking
Friday, March 7th for the second annual “Rockin’ Around the Decades” to benefit
The Center for Family Justice (formerly The Center for Women and Families of
Eastern Fairfield County).

This year’s theme, “A Night in Funky Town,”
will once again feature Band Together CT. The band, founded by Rob Fried and
Jerry Vigorito, unites a network of talented musicians and artists with people
and organizations that are raising funds for families in need. The Center is
the lifeline for those suffering from domestic and sexual assault in six towns,
Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.

“While we realize that domestic and sexual
violence are extremely serious issues, our aspiration is to share a lighter
moment in a fun evening of music and dancing,” says event co-chair Catherine
Gallagher of Fairfield. “Last year’s Motown party was such a success, everyone
who attended made us promise to make it an annual event. We know ‘A Night in
Funky Town’ will be just as much fun, and will have everyone out of their
chairs, on the floor, dancing. In addition, this is a wonderful opportunity to
increase awareness about The Center, and of course, raise much needed funds.”

beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the main event from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets, at
$125 each, include dinner, two drinks, a show, an auction and dancing. Tickets

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR FAMILY JUSTICE

The Center for Family Justice (formerly The
Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County Inc.) brings all
domestic and sexual assault services – police, prosecutors, civil/legal
providers, community advocates – under one roof. Although our name has changed,
we will continue with the work we have provided for almost 120 years, helping
those touched by domestic and sexual violence and child abuse obtain free, confidential,
bilingual crisis services in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford
and Trumbull. Additionally, each year, The Center teaches more than 7,000
children and teens about how to build healthy relationships, the dangers of
bullying and how to prevent dating violence; answers more than 2,000 calls on
its 24-hour crisis hotline; assists with the civil and criminal court processes
for more than 3,000 survivors of domestic violence; responds to more than 300
survivors of sexual assault and their families; provides a safe home for more
than 100 women and children fleeing domestic abuse; and coordinates the
investigations of more than 100 cases of child sexual and severe physical
abuse, developing service plans for the young survivors and their families. For
