Saint Jude Italian Festival

Are

you ready for some great Italian food, rides, games and live entertainment?

Then get ready for the 23rd annual St. Jude Italian Festival to take

place Wednesday August 21st through Saturday August 24th

at the Church grounds located in Monroe on Route 111 near the intersection of

Route 110. Over the years the Festival has grown from a two day carnival to the

current four day festival attracting over 10,000 visitors during the event.





What

makes the Festival so great is the food and there is a lot to choose from.

Sausage and pepper grinders, pizza fritta (fried dough), fried calamari,

mozzarella sticks, hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries all cooked fresh to

order by parishioners. Also ziti and meatballs, chicken or eggplant parmigiana

dinners or grinders, broccoli and cavatelli in garlic sauce, pizza and porkette

grinders supplied from Jennie’s Restaurant of Monroe. We have seating for 500

people!

Desserts?
We have many Italian specialties baked by Luigi’s of Trumbull, including plain and chocolatecovered cannolis, sfogliatella, tiramisu, pastaciotta, éclairs, chocolate
mousse and chocolate cakes. This year we will be also be featuring Gelato
Giuliana, homemade gelato from New Haven!Carnivalrides are provided by Stewart Amusement of Trumbull. Each night is a bracelet night. Ride all rides, all night for $22. Individual ride tickets will also be
available for purchase. There also will be many carnival

games of skill sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank for you to try your

luck on. This year’s raffle features an 8 Day Cruise to Bermuda for two sailing

from New York City!  Also three times

nightly we will be conducting 50/50 raffles.

Wednesday
night, the 21st, features live music from Angie Rubino and his band playing many of your Italian favorite songs. Thursday and Friday, the 22nd  and 23rd , features Jim Goldstein

from JMG DJ with thousands of songs covering a wide range of music styles on

his state of the art digital equipment and highlighted by a light show and

various other electronic surprises.  On

Saturday the 24th the Festival closes with Atwood Express playing

the hits from the 50’s to the 90’s and more! Bring your dancing shoes as we

also feature a dance floor in front of the stage area.

 Free
parking and free admission. So come and enjoy some great food and

entertainment. Mangia!

Festival hours of operation are Wednesday Aug. 21st and Thursday

Aug. 22nd from 6pm to 10pm, Friday Aug. 23rd, 6pm to

10:30pm and Saturday Aug. 24th, 5pm to 10:30pm. Please call
