Big Names Attend Speaking Of Women 2013 (Photos)

The Speaking of Women 2013 fundraising luncheon for the Center for Women and Families attracted broad support among public officials, law enforcement and businesses when it was held at The Waterview in Monroe on Wednesday afternoon.

Among the guest list was the governor's wife Cathy Malloy, former director of the Women's Center in Norwalk and Stamford and State Rep. Tony Hwang.

First selectmen in attendance included Steve Vavrek of Monroe, Timothy Herbst of Trumbull, Michael Tetreau of Fairfield and Tom Herrmann of Easton.

Monroe Police Chief John Salvatore and Fairfield Chief Gary MacNamara also lent their support. MacNamara was accompanied by Deputy Chief Chris Lyddy and several police officers who work on domestic abuse cases.

The Center for Women and Families also enjoyed strong corporate support for its annual luncheon.

Title sponsors were People's United Bank, People's United Bank Wealth Management and Elizabeth M. Pfriem.

General Electric Co. was the Corporate Benefactor. Affinion Group, Dorothy M. Nessel and Unilever were Corporate Contributers.
