'Stuff An Ambulance' to Benefit Monroe Food Pantry

Stop & Shop customers gearing up for the holidays Sunday will also be able to help struggling Monroe families in need this year. Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food donations at the 470 Monroe Turnpike store from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The EMS sponsored food drive will benefit Monroe Food Pantry.

"Monroe Food Pantry has an all time high number of clients, and the supplies are unusually low at this point," said Police Lt. Brian McCauley, who is also a Monroe EMS volunteer. "The more food we can collect, the better the holidays will be for those in need of assistance from our food pantry."

Cash donations will also be accepted Sunday. McCauley said every penny will be turned over to the Monroe Food Pantry.
