A Bat In the Basement

A Lynn Drive woman was having her furnace repaired in the basement of her home on Nov. 19 and a casement window was left open. She later found a bat flying around the basement, according to police.

The following morning an officer and the homeowner searched the basement, but were unable to find the animal. Police believe it flew back out of the open window.

Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said there were no exposures and exclusion tips were provided, along with a temporary window screen.
