A Jack Russell Attacks a Dachshund on Barn Hill Road

A woman was walking her two Dachshund dogs on Barn Hill Road at around 11:40 a.m. Nov. 11 when a Jack Russell Terrier ran out into the street from a nearby property and attacked one of her dogs, according to police.

Monroe Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said one of the Dachshunds was injured.

The owner of the Jack Russell Terrier was issued a $92 infraction for a roaming dog and a written warning for annoyance by dog in roadway and creating a nuisance.

Risko said a referral was made for Small Claims Court for restitution for damages (the veterinarian invoice).

All of the dogs were validly vaccinated and licensed, according to Risko.
