A Small Dog Bites a Woman on the Rail Trail

A 40-year-old woman was running along the Rails to Trails path, between Victoria Drive and Maple Drive, on Sept. 26 when she encountered another woman walking three leashed dogs, and a small black one broke free and bit the runner on the leg, causing a minor injury.

Monroe Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said the bite victim kept running and told police she didn't know the dog owner.

The case remains under investigation. The incident took place in the morning.
