Anyone Want a Pit Bull Puppy?

Dixie, a pit bull mix, was found in the road at the intersection of Webb Circle and East Village Road - near Hurd's Brook - on Nov. 5. A motorist picked the puppy up and called Monroe Animal Control the same night.

Animal Control Officer Ed Risko believes the puppy was abandoned.

"That's what we're figuring based on the location," he said Thursday.

Dixie is a female, who's about three or four months old. She's a playful puppy, but Risko said she's afraid of people and is being socialized.

Dixie will soon by available for adoption. Those interested in adopting the pit bull mix should call Monroe Animal Control at 203-452-3760. The shelter is located at 447 Purdy Hill Road.
