'Dominant Female Aggression' Leads to Dog Bite

A Benedict Road woman made a 911 call at 7:26 a.m. on Oct. 7 after her husband was bit while trying to break up a fight between the couple's two dogs.

Monroe EMS transported the man to the hospital for treatment of bite wounds on his hands.

Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said the newly adopted dog displayed dominant female aggression, sparking the dogfight.

The couple was issued a written warning for failure to license one of their dogs and the case remains open pending a quarantine for the attacking dog.

Risko said a referral was also made for behaviorist training for the new dog.
