A Redtail Hawk swooped down to score a chicken for breakfast, but didn't see the fence until it was too late.
The owners of a chicken coop on Fan Hill Road reported a hawk tangled in its fence on Sept. 12.
The residents freed the bird and a Monroe Animal Control Officer shared tips on protecting their coop, including providing roof cover to block the view from predators in the sky.
