Two Stray Pigs Found Wandering on Old Coach Road

An Old Coach Road man reported finding two stray pigs in front of his house last Thursday at 12:50 in the afternoon, and told Monroe Animal Control the pigs dug up the landscaping mulch in his yard while looking for food.

Animal Control Officer Ed Risko said the owner and the breed of the pigs are unknown, adding the animals weigh an estimated 30 and 10 pounds.

The pigs were impounded and removed from the property.

"The animals were advertised as "Found" property," Risko said in a press release issued Wednesday. "If the owners fail to claim the animals or are not found, then the pigs may be available for adoption after August 7th. Veterinary evaluation is scheduled for Monday, August 5."
