Joseph Licciardi, 77, of Monroe, husband of Dolores Maccarrone Licciardi, passed away Friday November 29th, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in New York City, on July 6, 1936 he was the son of the late Anthony and Serafina (Vespo) Licciardi and had been a long time Monroe resident.

He was a Director of Equipment Installations for Treasure Chest Advertising where he coordinated the installation of printing presses at numerous sites across the United States. He worked in the printing business for 40 years before he retired 12 years ago.

He was a big fan of all New York sports teams, most notably, the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He also became one of the UConn Girls Basketball team's biggest fans — never missing the opportunity to watch any of the "gals" games.

He loved to spend time with his family and every year they shared family vacation in Lake George. He also loved to go kayaking on the lake and playing golf with his family.

He was always willing to help friends and family with anything they needed. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his wife Dolores, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Lisa & David Krause, Toni Jane & Kenneth Nuzzolo, Anthony & Jo-Ann Licciardi, and Maria & Esteban Torres Jr.; grandchildren John, Andrew, Jessica, Andrea, Esteban III, Joseph, Michael, Abigail, and Julia; as well as several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Rose, Jane, and Eleanor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 3, at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Church 6948 Main Street Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Daniels Farm Road Trumbull. Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joseph's name to the American Cancer Society , or Vitas Hospice.
