Obituary: Marion Hyde Ferris

Marion Hyde Ferris, 92, of Monroe died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late George F. Ferris. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Stratford, Marion was a longtime Monroe resident.

She retired from and spent most of her career at Danbury Hospital where she worked as a phlebotomist. She was previously employed at Milford Hospital.

Marion was an active member of Monroe United Methodist Church and enjoyed the Women’s Sewing Club. She was also a member of the Freelove Baldwin Stow Chapter of the DAR in Milford for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Judith Bosco and Kathleen Griffin and sons, Alan and Robert Ferris, six grandchildren, Adrianne Mora, Geoff Bosco, Sarah Caldwell, Daniel Griffin, Robert and George Ferris, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sons, Richard and George, daughter Carol Ann, and grandson, David Bosco.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. meeting directly in the United Methodist Church of Monroe with Pastor Martha Epstein officiating. Interment will follow in East Village Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call Friday 4-8 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
