Monroe Chamber Of Commerce Celebrates another Successful Year at Annual Networking Dinner

The Monroe Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual networking dinner on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 5:30PM at Roberto’s Restaurant, 505 Main Street, Newtown.

The meeting was led by the now-former Chamber President, Ray Giovanni. Along with the reinstatement of current officers and directors, the Chamber voted on the slate of new officers presented by the nominating committee. Among those chosen for officer and director positions was the newest Chamber president, Brendan McKeon, of Spadaccino Gallagher Community Funeral Home. The list of officers and directors is provided below.

In addition to the annual ratification of directors, guests in attendance were given a presentation by guest speaker and international best-selling author Pete Winiarski. His half hour presentation, titled “Act Now! The 5 C’s of Goal Achievement”, showed guests how to identify what it takes to achieve their personal goals within 90 days.

Ray Giovanni had the privilege of presenting two awards at the annual dinner. The first, the Chamber’s Longevity Award was presented to Bruce Benedict of Benedict’s Home and Garden for his dedication and loyalty to not only the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, but the entire town’s business community. Mr. Giovanni also had the pleasure of awarding Elena Pothanszki the John Dry Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship given to a senior at Masuk High School who shows great scholastic integrity and wants to further themselves through an education in business.

Overall, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Annual Dinner was a roaring success. With over fifty guests present, an interesting collection of raffle prizes to be won, and an outstanding dinner prepared by Roberto’s Restaurant, guests left the event feeling the invigoration and accomplishment of yet another successful year for the Monroe Chamber and its members.
