To The Editor:
We would like to thank the many people who assisted us in preparing for and carrying out the Presidential Election on November 6th. We must begin with the Emergency Management Team under the direction of Dave York, the Secretary of the State’s office, the Department of Public Works and its staff and the School Administration and staff for making the restoration of power for the reopening of the schools one of their top priorities. Not only did the reopening benefit our students, but it afforded our voters a more convenient means of voting.
The polls were staffed with over seventy-five people, some who had never worked on an election before. They worked for over fourteen hours and to them we extend our heartfelt thanks.
Our moderators for this election were Karen Burnaska, head moderator; Barbara Larsen, Marcy LaFollette, Susan Maslow, Greg Metz, and Peggy Villani. Under their leadership the election ran smoothly.
Of course, there are always some minor glitches and we thank the public for their patience when these occurred. And finally, we would like to thank our deputies, Susan Ownes and Jan Larsen who worked tirelessly for many weeks helping us prepare for the election.
Sincerely,
Sue Koneff and Judy Stripay,
Registrars of Voters
