Ski and Snowboard Activities at Mohawk Mountain

Registration is now open through December 17th for the Parks & Recreation Ski and Snowboard activities at Mohawk Mountain.

Monroe Parks and Recreation will once again be offering a six week ski/snowboard program which includes coach bus transportation from Village Square Shopping Center on Route 111 (across from McDonald’s).  This program will be on Friday nights starting January 4th through February 8th  with a make-up night on February 22, 2013 if necessary.  Strict rules of conduct for all participants on the bus and at Mohawk Mountain will be enforced by Parks and Recreation Department chaperones and Mohawk Mountain staff. VIOLATORS WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE PROGRAM WITHOUT REFUND.

A helmet is mandatory and can be rented at Mohawk for $10 per person/per session (purchase at Mohawk).  All fees are for the full six weeks and include coach transportation to and from the facility. There are no refunds or partial payments. Please do not register if you have a school, vacation or other conflict on any or all of the Friday nights in January and February.  Transfers, except for lessons and rentals, are acceptable only with written permission of the registered paid participant AND the other party that is involved.  Please note that lessons cannot be switched.

For additional information and to register, please go to our website monroerec.org. If you are renting or taking lessons you must print out and submit the proper forms with your payment.   Registration will not be processed without these papers.  Registration deadline is December 17, 2012.

Hi Laura, Please email me at bill@patch.com or call me at 203-621-4847, so I can do a story on yourRead More petition.

Well, realistically, you won't get speed bumps (they just don't do that on public streets) but youRead More might get a speed trap once in a while. I drive this road every weekday and am just as appalled as you are by the speeding. And let me tell you, it's not always youngsters. I've seen a few blue-haired old ladies ride my bumper on that street. We have a similar problem on Barn Hill, another long stretch of road where drivers feel the need for speed. What I can't figure out (with all due respect) is why anybody with half a brain would choose either of those streets for their morning or evening walk. That's just tempting fate.

If you have any trouble, email support@patch.com. The help desk will do it for you if need be. ButRead More changing your settings should work.

Hi Steve, To stop getting emails for every comment under a story, when you're signed on, click underRead More "Hi Steve" at the top of the page, and choose Email Settings from the dropdown menu. There's an option titled "Comments", uncheck the box that is automatically checked so you will no longer receive comment updates by email.

I found that I could turn them off in my profile under e-mail settings. However, it appears thatRead More this is now an all or nothing rather than by selected posts or individual articles.

Hi Steve, The comment stream doesn't appear on the homepage in the new design. Some of the sitesRead More that went 2.0 before mine did heard complaints about that. I don't know if it will be changed or not. Right now Patch is gathering all feedback.
