Burglary on Wheeler Road
A residential burglary was reported on Wheeler Road at 6:53 p.m. on Sept. 2. Police said the homeowner noticed the deadbolt was no longer locked when he came home and that a $20 bill was missing from the kitchen counter. There were no signs of forced entry, but police said a key kept outside the house is missing.
Taken from the master bedroom was an envelop containing $480, a small video camera and an older IBM laptop, according to the report. Police are investigating the burglary, which took place sometime between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
A Stranger at the Door
A 58-year-old Cedar Terrace woman reported that a suspicious, older man knocked on her door at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday and wanted to speak with her about a legal action she was involved in in the '90's, police said.
She told the stranger she could not talk about it and asked him to leave her alone, but he continued to insist that she talk to him, according to the report. When the woman's husband asked him to leave, the man finally left, police said.
The couple gave officers a description of the man and the license plate number of his vehicle. Police said they will try to contact him to find out what he wanted and to tell him to leave the woman alone.
